Being Authentically You
Why It’s Everything (And a Hint at What’s Coming Next)
“There’s something magnetic about authenticity. You can’t fake it, force it, or finesse it. You just have to be it.”
I’ve spent years building a career that spans across fashion, entrepreneurship, and content creation, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned—it’s that the real magic happens when you lean into who you truly are. No filters. No pretending. Just the raw, beautiful, driven version of you.
Whether I’m styling a look for the ‘gram, running my civil engineering firm, or juggling the not-so-glam side of business behind the scenes, I’ve always made it a point to show up as myself. That’s how I connect with my audience. That’s how I’ve built trust. And that’s exactly what led me to write something I’ve never shared before.
So here it is… a little sneak peek.
I’ve been pouring my heart into something new: a book called Entrepreneur in Heels. And it’s not just a title—it’s my story. One that I hope inspires every woman who’s ever felt like she had to choose between being powerful and being polished. Between being smart and stylish. Between business and beauty.
Spoiler: you don’t have to choose.
Entrepreneur in Heels is about what it really looks like to chase success without losing yourself in the process. It’s about building something from scratch (in my case, multiple somethings), making bold moves, owning your past—even the messy chapters—and doing it all with a little lipstick, a lot of grit, and unapologetic style.
In the book, I share:
How I went from working full-time in engineering and running a boutique to launching my own firm and content brand
What it means to evolve—publicly—and still hold onto your core
Lessons I’ve learned from burnout, balance, and being underestimated
Why fashion, business, and self-worth can absolutely coexist
This book is a celebration of the and—you can be all the things. You already are.
So here’s my reminder to you: being authentically you is your superpower. It’s what makes your story different. It’s what makes your brand magnetic. And it’s what will carry you through the moments when doubt creeps in and things get hard.
I cannot wait to share Entrepreneur in Heels with you all. It’s raw, it’s real, and it’s written for the women who are ready to walk in their purpose—heels optional, confidence required.
Stay tuned.
This one’s for the builders, the believers, and the bold.
With love,
Nicole Colee
